1998 Phone
1999/04/26
We are glad to announce the JIDX contest result herewith.
The reported scores by Email and snail mail were compiled and checked by the
JIDX Contest Committee. We were carefully checked the reports but if you find
any incorrect or missing reports, please send your objection to the committee
by May 20, 1999.
Any correspondence to the committee;
Email: jidx-committee@ne.nal.go.jp
FAX : 81-3-3733-0234
Mail : PO Box 59, Kamata, Ohta-ku, Tokyo 144-8691
We had 111 email+disk logs out of 413 total log submission. It was good number
but there might be more stations will be able to send disk logs because their
print out were mada by computer. We are considering to process the logs by
program, so more your log submission by email/disk will be appreciated.
If you send the email log, you'll receive the result by email directly from
the committee one week ealier than public open.
Amendment
1999/05/18: KE6RD was listed behind WA6FGV even he had higher score. This error
was caused by program bug and fixed. Now KE6RD is the winner of the Zone3/21MHz.
**Caution**

the official summary sheet. If this form doesn't work, Please tell me
via E-mail
EA3BHB: My first JIDX,I enjoyed a lot,but conditions on 14MHz were not up.
Best 73 to JIDX CU AGN!
EX8MDA: In this contest I'm worked with 47 Prefectures and 10 districts of
Japan. Please sent Awards WAJA and AJD to my home address.
HA8IC : Sorry, my free time was only 3 hours!
HL3AHQ:It was very enjorable time for me with all patieny JA station. Most
time skipped with JA on the high band, so I worked on Low 7MHz. Many
thanks everybody!
I6AIP : FIRST PARTECIPATION,VERY FUNNY.I SEE YOU NEXT YEAR
IV3SKB: Good prop. to 10m,strong sign. and listening many operaters. Very
nice sob.73.my log is only to cntrol.thank you.
KD4GW : Great Contest as Usual !! Even with poor/fair Band Conditions.
KE6RD : Very poor propagation on the first day. Enjoyed the contest though.
Thanks to all JA stations who gave me a shout!
LR0H : GOOD CONDITIONS OF PROPAGATION, BUT FOR CORDOBA, ARGENTINEAN THE DAY
SATURDAY there was A STRONG STORM AND THE STATIC ones ARRIVED IN 28MHZ.
At S-9, I have NOTICED LESS ESTACIONES DE JAPAN THAN last year,
CONGRATULATIONS
LU1DK : I have very much QRN, but thanks for contest, very good, I hope new

LU1FKR: Look at our Web Site : http.//www.badpower.com.ar
LU7HVH: Good conditions in general, I wait for them next year with call

non multiband My cordial 73
OH8JSZ: It was really bad propagation, We have had aurora borealis and it's
braking the propagation.
PI4CC : Very poor conditions! I hope much much better next year.
PY1SX : On the first time I participate for this fantastic contest and like
very much. Please if possible send me a list f prefectures to my

UN7LG : MY SECOND JA CONTEST ON 40 MTRS BUT I HAVE NO TIME TO TAKE PATH DURING
ALL CONTEST. DIFFICULT CONDITION :QRM,QRN ,CRUSH 73 THANKS FOR QSO
UU5J : Thanks again for the fine contest. Conditions were good on 15 and 10
meters ,but extrimely poor on 40 and 80 meters. All QSL's PSE via JA6UBK.
VE6JY: Conditions were not very good, perhaps they will be better next year.
Too bad, as I would have enjoyed working more of this contest.
VR98BG: Between the increasing lack of JA activity in JIDX & the fact that
most JAs cannot work 14 Mc, this was a very slow weekend!
VU2UR: It is the first time that I am taking part in the Phone section of
the Contest. My experience in working CW section has helped me to a
great level.Though my signal was poor enough, many JA operators who
are keen to work low power stations, did work me and thus, this is my
second entry to JIDXC as I have already sent my CW log for 21 and 28 MHz
bands. I have enjoyed working in the contest and you can expect further
participation in 1999.
W6KP : Wrking my friend JH4UYB(Masa) on all 5 Bands.
WB6NFO: No activity found on 75 meters. Very little activity on 40 meters for
USA because only a few JA's listined "up." I worked all 3 who did! 20
meters conditions were good but little activity on Saturday. Sunday was
very active. 15 meters was good on Saturday and Sunday. 10 meters was
dead on Friday but came gloriously to life on Saturday! Very good
contest. Propagation allows me to get a good night's sleep if I don't
find activity on 40 and 75. Very good contest - allowed me to meet
again all my Japanese friends.
YC8VIP: I am very happy to joint on JIDX 1998 and the first for me, my log is
YC8VIP.dat (TR-LOG).
YO5TP: Happy New Year !
YT7KF: Nice to meet you at the first time. Great contest although few EA's and
I's HAM who tune rig or call CQ on frequency what I use. The EX
condition was very nice, I made contacts with JA QRP stations. Great
deal was that I worked all multiplieres without any problems, except
JD1. My old Japanese equipment doing nice job, indeed. Few JA HAMs said
that I have nice signals in Japan. Finally, I have one question for JAs
HAM: how many dBs over S9 coming some western Asiatic and eastern
European station in Japan? I am behind their antenna and they coming
over S9 about 20-30 dBs. That is not big problem but their QRM, sometime
more than 5 kHz plus and minus of their zero beat they made notice that
is PROBLEM. Yours sincerely,
YU7SF: This was my 4th Japan international DX-SSB and my 2,059 cntest log entry
at all.(1988,1991,1997,1998)
ZL1AFQ: Thanks for another good contest. Conditions were not good and the path
between JA and ZL did not open for very long. Look forward to 1999.
UA3MBP; I thank for all stations from Japan, who called back me.
